I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hostel for a short holiday, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the host, who was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The common areas were inviting, making it easy to meet fellow travelers and strike up interesting conversations. The best part of the hostel was their food. Each and every meal I had there was amazing. (They serve the best food in the town) I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a great place to stay while exploring the area. I can't wait to return!

Harshit is a great host. I had a recent priviledge of staying at the property - Young Monk Hostel @ Dharamkot as I wanted to complete my last attempt with Triund Trek. Dorm Space - Decent (4 Bed Option) Food and Hospitality - Amazing Cleanliness - Great Location - Can be a little steep if you are driving a motorcycle, or walking. What else can be improved? May be an option to have a private washroom per bedroom (individual or bunk).

Stumbled upon this place and made a last minute booking. Was a good decision. I had a good experience, right since the time I gave the property a call until I checked out. Super helpful and friendly hosts who are always ready to accomodate a request for food or help you figure your logistics. Will be back. The property has a good view and is away from the nosiy streets.

Stayed here for 3-4 days. This is quite a sociable hostel and affordable for backpackers. only thing that could be improved was maintaining cleanliness in the premises. Got to meet some really nice and warm people here, one could give this hostel a try if in upper Dharamkot

Best place! very clean, beautiful view, comfortable rooms. The people are super nice and kind service. The food is amazinggg! By far the best Indian food, feel free to ask for what you wish.

Best hostel in Dharamkot/Mcleod! The view up there is unbeatable, and everything they cook is delicious. But the real highlight is the owner, DJ, who is up for anything. We went on his motorbike to watch a cricket match in Dharamshala stadium together! Also very comfortable beds, movie room, and always cool travellers to meet.

I had a terrible experience at young monk . The owner Abhinav is a money hungry person who lacks basic human decency and empathy. I had booked the private room in the hostel and paid in full for 5 days upfront. On the first day itself I fell severely sick due to lack of basic amenities such as a working heater in the private room (I had paid extra for a heater that didn’t work). Given that I had booked for 5 days and wanted to checkout after 1 day, I was ok with partial refund, but to my shock and horror Abhinav refused to refund even a single rupee. Even most hotels refund two days ahead but not this so called ‘hostel’. Since I was unwell I decided to let it go and seek medical help. I’ve stayed in hostels world over and the basic premise of a hostel is a warm friendly place where traveler's can meet and exchange energy. More than losing the money I am unhappy that money hungry people like Abhinav are operating hostels , he should open an oyó instead as he is bringing disrepute to the name of fun and friendly hostels. Stay away from young monk. Pathetic!
